Considering I do no know much about economics (because I avoided math at all costs in college), I have to do a little catch up to understand what is happening in the markets right now. I am sure that I could have just asked Matt, but he would have used really fancy words to explain and it would have been a strain on our friendship.
Timothy Lamer from World Magazine has an article this week called "Anatomy of a Crisis" that was helpful.
I am also reading several posts on how Christians should respond. This has been on my mind during this election cycle and I am really looking at the arguments for "capitalism" versus arguments for entitlements and socialized health care. I have been and still am in favor of a free market without government interference. But it seems to me that economic systems truly thrive when people take advantage of people (greed).
I have been a bit out of touch for the past couple of weeks. I have been doing a lot of admin work to get things rolling for the fall in our student ministry.
Today, I was able to laugh a bit at a couple of videos that were floating around the ol blogosphere.
The first is Tina Fey as Sarah Palin and it is spot on.
The second is one is one of the greatest Christian songs that I have ever heard.
