According to the guys on ESPN Monday night baseball (where the Twins just smoked the Red Sox), MLB is on record to have 1,000 less homeruns in 2008 than in 2006.
And they keep calling it the post-steroid era. Are people really still not taking steriod/HGH-esque drugs? I can't believe it to be the case.
A couple of weeks ago I read that the city of Pompano Beach had sent in a proposal to the ownership of the Florida Marlins and Major League Baseball to have the Marlins moved to Pompano in Northern Broward County. It would include a new indoor stadium and would keep the team in South Florida. Today, this story was in the Sun-Sentinel. They have mentioned Pompano Race track as a potential site. It would currently be a logistics nightmare, but the thought is cool. I would love to walk across the street to go to a major league game.
