Don Imus

Don Imus is taking his lumps on the Al Sharpton radio show for his racially degrading remarks about the Rutgers Womens Basketball.  In a moment of his mouth moving faster than his brain, he referred to the women as "nappy headed ho's" and caused a huge firestorm. 

I am not sure that I will ever come close to understanding what black men and women go through.  Even this morning as I drove into the housing projects to pick up my friend Elijah, I see the type of trouble, stereotyping and hardships that his family endures.  But I have a hard time with the constant mentality of being a victim.  I can't line it up with the teachings of Jesus in showing that the best possible life is turning the other cheek and that grace really does lead to something better.

So as I see Sharpton rant on Imus, I understand it is a very big deal (which Imus agrees).  It is something that has caused Imus public humiliation and will probably cost him his job.  I can't believe that Sharpton is always consistent.  It was just a year or so ago that I heard him talk about the thoughts and beliefs of others in which he said, "I disagree with you, but I will fight for your right to say it."

What Imus said was terrible.  I am not defending him.  I do respect that he is taking responsibility.

I saw this on the news today and not knowing the story yet, my mind was in a frenzy.  Visually, it reminded me of the old days of WWF Rowdy Roddy Piper would jump in and knock Hulk Hogan off Randy Savage so that Hogan wouldn't win.  This dad is CRAAAAZZZZYYY.

He's One of the "clean" ones...

I didn't get a chance to post this one yesterday about Senator Joe Biden (D) from Delaware.

In a critique of the Democratic field for the '08 presidency, he said of Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois: "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," he told the New York Observer, a weekly. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

This obviously caused a firestorm which led to Biden spending the rest of the day in the spin zone trying to clean up the mess.

Al Sharpton said that when Biden called him to apologize, Sharpton started off the conversation reassuring Biden about his hygienic practices. “I told him I take a bath every day."

Officer...arrest that boy

Apparently, mom telling Junior to not play his gameboy wasn't enough.  She had him arrested for petty larceny.  Then she waited until after church to go get him.  This is the news story.

On another odd note, yesterday, a woman was banned from flying on her American Airlines flight due to the fact that she "ripped one" and tried to cover it up by lighting matches.  She is said to have a medical condition...but lighting matches on a plane?  You have ample opportunity to blame lots of other people.  Now they KNOW it was you.

What a great dad.  One question that must be asked.  Was this a regular bar that he took his son to, or a nice gentlemans club?  Cause seven is the time when dads and sons should share those moments.  (You know that dad gave him a sip.)

Which reminds me of going to Tijuana Flatts a few weeks ago and saw a grandmother give her grandson a sip of her Bud Light.   I bet she took him out for tequila shots and let him steer on the way home.
